Thank you for trying out our demo of Grafyxx™ for the Macintosh®, the most complete image “sleuth” available. Grafyxx (formerly Pixx’r and Pixxler) is designed for prepress, BBS, and WWW professionals who need to manage and organized supplied graphics. Grafyxx “peeks” into graphic file types such as TIFF, EPS, PICT, GIF, JPEG, and more, revealing their hidden attributes, including clipping paths, transfer functions, size, color type, encoding, and much more.
But Grafyxx doesn’t just blandly display this information; once registered, sophisticated automation and production tools make batch inspection and troubleshooting image files almost automatic. Prepress professionals working with dozens or hundreds of images in a job will appreciate being able to quickly find hidden information and identify trouble spots. BBS operators can quickly find the compression level of a JPEG, or whether a file is a GIF, JPEG, PICT, etc. And HTML authors will be able to instantly create valid <IMG> tags, copied to the clipboard, for every JPEG and GIF file needed on a Web page. Every file’s information is displayed almost immediately. Multiple file drag and drop is supported, as is Applescripting, and Grafyxx boasts a powerful Sort function which makes verifying multiple files a snap.
The demo version is useful for occasional use, but for serious production work the full version contains unparalleled functionality. Features available only in the full version include:
• Set out-of-range alerts
The ability to set preferences and alerts when a certain graphic’s criteria falls outside user-defined parameters. For example, a prepress tech may set the “Resolution” alert to display red if any graphics are below 266 PPI, or if any image has a Color Type of RGB. A Web Artist may want to make sure all images are RGB or Index, or that no graphic has a physical size larger than 20KB.
• Create and edit Sort Sets
One of the most powerful functions of Grafyxx is the ability to define multiple sorting criteria and quickly examine dozens or even hundreds of image files in a few seconds. Define up to 20 Sort Sets, each consisting of as many as 20 separate parameters. For example, one Set may be as specific as: “Select all images that are TIFF or EPS but not PICT; that are at least 72 DPI but not more than 300 DPI; are not compressed by JPEG or LZW; have a color type of CMYK or grayscale, but not RGB or Index; and are smaller than 5x7 inches.”
• Add multiple files in a dialog
Instead of the demo’s limit of adding three images at a time by Drag-and-Drop, the full version allows unlimited Drag-and-Drop, or a dual Open dialog box.
• Export multiple HTML tags
Web production artists sometimes must work with dozens or hundreds of supplied images. The full version of Grafyxx generates an unlimited number of HTML <IMG> tags for use in any word processor. Create an entire library of <IMG> tags with a handful of keystrokes!
• Generate and print detailed or synopsis reports
Searching for images with certain attributes can become a tiresome task; Grafyxx creates either tab-delimited reports, or prints results in a long or short format. This feature is especially handy for documenting files sent to service bureaus for output.
• Upgrade notices, documentation, and support
As a registered user, you will receive email notification of product upgrades, and have access to email support. A disk and printed manual are optionally available at time of purchase.
There are three packages available for Grafyxx: 68K, Fat Binary (both PowerPC and 68K), or PowerPC native. The following files are included in the self-extracting archive:

Number of copies Price Machine Licenses
1 $99 3 Macs
2-10 $75/ea. (# of copies times 3)
11+ $59/ea. (# of copies times 3)
Worldwide License $5000 Unlimited
So, for example, 7 copies would cost $525 and be licensed for use on 21 machines.
NOTE: Above prices do not include disk and documentation, although an Adobe PDF version of the User Manual is available from the Anagrafyxx Web and FTP sites. Please add $5 per copy to receive master disk and documentation.
Version 1.2 released. Minor update to version 1.1. Two minor changes: correctly displays “Grafyxx” in printed long form reports; and updated web address information to www.anagrafyxx.com.
June 21, 1997
Version 1.1 released. One new feature and several fixes. NEW: the numeric display has been slightly improved. Trailing zeroes are now suppressed. For example, 8.5 was displayed as 8.50 in v1.0, and is now displayed as 8.5. FIXED: EPS with JPEG compression now displays correctly; some grayscale or CMYK EPS files incorrectly reported “saved with transparent white”.
